Magento Weekly 003 – SUPEE 7405 v1.1, Curated Commerce, and more

Magento news weekly 16

Well, well, well, it’s Friday again and all the GIFs have gone on a vacation!
Therefore, let’s begin.

There is a new SUPEE out! This one (7405 v1.1) does not address any new security issues; however it deals with upload file permissions, merging carts, and SOAP APIs.

And, you all need to be aware of a fake SUPEE patch that is stealing data. Sucuri has written a detailed post about this in the second week of February and MageStore warned about it again just two days.

Some of us are lazy when it comes to upgrading the Magento version. If you are a Magento 1.7 store owner and you are wondering about coming to the latest 1.9 version, then consider yourself lucky. This Monday, Fayyaz Khattak penned down a very nice tutorial on this very subject.

By the way, Magento Inc has also released a nice ebook on curated commerce. Get your copy now!

And, there is a ton of things to read this weekend.  So, here is the list to keep you busy.
